Chai Diam Ma, Penang.

Right. Chai Diam Ma means "grocery store" in Hokkien. Well, being a Penangite, I haven't been to this place yet. I love places like this. Very unique and hard to find. I like things done with simplicity yet creatively. Let me show you what I'm trying to say. Yes! Today, I manage to experiment with my Bobbi Brown Cosmetics! Loving it to bits!

Smile 1 and 2.

It's quite hard finding the place though. So many alleys here and there. Thank god I have an all-planned hubby who googled the place so we don't get lost! I was so excited cause a lot of people have been posting pictures about Chai Diam Ma cafe in Penang that really caught my attention. The place is actually a mix of a cafe and a gallery by local artist.

Some people might feel it's old, dirty and about to crack but for me it's ART. Be inspired!

The Front.

The Back.

Handphones strip.

Handmade crafts by local artists.

I see the light. @.@

Him and her.

As for the food, well, we didn't have many choice. Just 3 options to choose from. Too Bad. Oh well, we made our orders anyway. The food tasted O.K to me. Just nice. But somehow, hubby thinks that Anabelle's Place is way better.

Mine. Udon mee + with bacon + chicken. RM14.

Love's. Baked Macaroni with Bacon and Mushroom. RM 14.

Love this shot!

Anyways, if you are a person who loves to try something new, Then you should visit the place. It gives an olden days vibe if you know what I mean.

Give it a try! Support local artists! :

Bobbi Brown Sunday!

Awesome stuffs huh? Just like a dream come true! ^^ Not all mine though.

Yesterday, mom decided that we all (family) should just go Gurney Plaza, Penang and walk around to relieve some stress. Yes, staying at home can be stress too! Stress comes after boredom.
Initially, I did not plan to buy anything cause I just don't feel like it. Just want to eat and walk, basically get some fresh air besides looking at the four walls at home.

We walked ourselves into Bobbi Brown, Just to see-see. I long knew the Long-lasting Gel Eyeliner from Bobbi Brown was really good. A lot of people were commenting about it. So, I thought of giving it a try. It's pricey and it doesn't have a brush that comes with it. You would have to buy the brush separately that cost RM100! Wtf. Luckily, I found one in Etude House that only costs me RM12! tee hee!

I opt for caviar ink. Simple terms : Dark brown nearly to black.

Hit me in the head will ya? I still don't know why I insisted to buy Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner since it's very pricey. But after the sales assistant lady helped me to drew on the eyeliner, I instantly fell in love! And she taught me how to drew the eyeliner too! Yay!

Skin Foundation SPF 15 PA+ - 3 Beige.

This is the liquid foundation I bought. The SA swap 3 different tones on my cheeks to see which one blends in to my skin better. I'm in the Beige category.
If you are 80-100% like me, then you should try the liquid foundation I bought.
1. I have oily T-zone and rest of it is super dry cause I'm under medication.
2. I prefer to have light to medium coverage. I don't like foundation that make my skin feels 10 grams heavier!
3. I DO NOT like to have a cakey face after applying foundation.
4. I want a foundation that covers my red patches and my veins near my cheeks.
Next, we have the sheer finish pressed powder!
The SA told me that it's a loose powder but it is compact together. She also told me after applying liquid foundation, we MUST use loose powder so that the liquid foundation stays put and doesn't make skin look too dewy (oily).

Sheer Finish Pressed Powder - 5 Soft Sand.

And now I will show you what's mine, mom's and what we got for free!

Mine.

My mom's. Moisturizer (more like BB cream to me) and lipstick!

What we got for free after we purchase more than RM500!

And guess what? Bobbi Brown is giving free eyebrow trimming to those who purchase any item from them. Love! And yes, I did get my eyebrows done.

Price List (in case you're wondering) :
1. Skin Liquid Foundation - RM 160.00
2.Sheer Finish Pressed Powder - RM 125.00
3 Long-wear Gel Eyeliner - RM 80.00

My outfit for the day!

First time experimenting with PhotoShake!

That's all peeps! I've learnt how to blow up my pictures without making it blur! WEE!! Will do a review about Bobbi Brown's cosmetics soon! So, Stay Tuned and Happy shopping with Bobbi Brown!

Loads of love,
Huiling.

Random Updates.

Hi readers!

Yesterday Clement and I watched "Fortune Buddies" in GSC Cinema . It's not like our normal movie genre but he said sometimes need to watch something different like comedy. What's more funnier than Hong Kong comedy right? He said his friends gave good reviews of it. So, we thought of watching it yesterday.

I personally think it's hilarious! cause they inserted a lot of updated jokes and their expression will just make you laugh. Spoiler : Angry birds! Come on, after a long boring or stressful day, you have to cheer yourself up a little. Love yourself! Anyways, I cant stop laughing in the cinema! Since there's not a lot of people in the cinema so ..what-the-heck! I laughed all I want! heeee...

This is the trailer ! Make sure you watched it to the end ya!

Oh ya, called up UPU (not me, love did!) to ask about when the results will be announce for those candidates who appealed for a varsity spot.

They told me that its gonna be on the 15th of September (Yes, after the intake.) Then, I saw some people posted in FB stating it's on the 3rd or 4th September. So, I'm not quite sure about it. Lets just see ya.

Now, updates on me. I'm just living in the norm. Laze around everyday. Appreciate the days I have before going into public uni (hopefully) / or private uni (2nd choice). Will be working during Raya Festival to earn some extra cash. Seriously, without money, no fun at all!

Till then,
Loads of love,
Huiling.

NYX Opening Celebration.

Yeap another makeover! I'm going insane with makeovers! Actually, this is a very delayed post!

I went to this event with my family and cousin one day after the Clinique makeover thingy. Crazy right? But after the two days of splurging myself with full force make-up, I kind of given up on making myself pretty. Make-up makes one more beautiful. Right? BAM! Wrong! Not for me. I wasn't exactly blessed with a blemish-free skin so normally, make-up artiste will apply 4-inch (ok, I might exaggerate a little) of foundation to keep my face acne-free, poreless, and smooth! I don't really like it as it makes me feel so CAKEY if you know what I mean. So, no matter how hard a make-up artiste or a photographer is trying to make me look beautiful, it's just not going to happen.

Don't get me wrong, I do love make-up but it just doesn't seem to love me back. I now completely utterly accept my fate that I just look better without make-up. *Bleh, words from a sour grape*

Anyways, Back to my post. The event was OK to me. Not a lot of people attended the event. Somehow I feel there were more photographers than viewers.
First off, I kind of misunderstood the poster of the event, I thought it is going to be a ONE-day free make-up class or something like that, but ended up getting a free make-up, photo-shoot and some voting for make-up artiste thingy.

My mood wasn't really good that day, maybe because I'm dissapointed with my look and I feel so fat during the photo-shoot.

Mummy excited getting a makeover!

Registration.

Mom and sis getting ready.

The AFTER look. I do love the way she did my eyebrows though.

My sis and I (after I took off those nasty fake eyelashes!)

After that, my sis and I wanted to go home cause it's so tiring with all the make-up on, but my mom wants to flaunt her make-up so we decided to go to Queensbay Mall, Penang for a while to make my mom happy.

My favourite frozen yogurt place. I will only eat frozen yogurt from here. Don't ask me why, cause I don't know why. LOL

I prefer the varieties from here. My normal picks : Honey stars, longans, grapes and strawberries!

Ta-da! Bon appetite!

Last picture of the day!

Till then, See ya! Will try to elaborate more on the events next time ya! ^^

Sorry for the Delayed post : Kayelle!

I actually typed this post a few days back. Thanks to my Photoshop which betrayed me on the LAST minute, I had to post this a few days a week after*

Hi guys! I just got back from my 5 days trip in KL and I had an awesome one! Heart broken though because I did not get to meet my bestie as we were having transportation problems. *Sighs* Next time ya girl? I'll make it up to you! Wa janji. :))

Anyways, to get to KL was extremely hard. Wanna know why? Cause it just so happens that my car broke down in Penang. Lucky or Unlucky? I would say I'm actually quite glad it broke down in Penang and not in KL highway. Phew! But my mom gotta pay the price for the repair. Well, after we left my car at the workshop, on the day itself, we decided to buy bus tickets! We were so lucky to be able to book tickets on the last minute! We took Aeroline!

Woots! I'm extremely happy with Aeroline! Superb service and great seats! Just that it's a little expensive. RM 60 for a one-way ticket to KL. I can tell you its worth it.

Actually 5 days of my trip to KL, I'm like Ms.Flash. Everything was done so fast and in a hurry. Except for the last day. Our timeline were just so jam-packed like a can of sardines. Meet the family, Having dinner with the family, Hoping malls from one to another, Chit chatting with family , snap loads of photo of my little nephew, bla bla bla. Time pass soo damn fast when your enjoying yourself, Right? Sighs.

I wanted to blog about NYX makeup academy opening celebration review actually, but, since I love the pictures I snap for the KL trip, might as well post this first. I'll guide you through the pictures ya? If I were to elaborate from Day 1 to Day 5, I know everyone will just click back to their FB page. tee hee.

Aeroline! Superb service I tell you.

We had dinner in Shang Palace on our last day in KL.
